Association of Socio-Psycho-Personal and Economic Characteristics of Working Women on Marital Satisfaction

Abstract

The study is to find out a correlation between characteristics of respondents and their attitude towards marital satisfaction. The association of various socio-personal characteristics viz., age of wife and husband, difference in age, length of marriage, year of employment, income, value, sexual unfaithfulness of husband, sexual adjustment, adaptability, performance in dual role, attitude towards marriage, job satisfaction and marital conflict were worked out. The results show that there is a positively correlation of marital satisfaction with income, temperament, value, sexual adjustment, performance in dual role, attitude towards marriage and job satisfaction. Increase of these variables will enhance marital satisfaction. It had negative correlation with interference of elders, sexual unfaithfulness of husband, adaptability and marital conflict. Decrease in these variables will enhance marital satisfaction.
