Abstract

Mass media provides information about latest technologies that are used by the farmers to increase their production. In rural areas, printed and telecast information cannot be utilized due to illiteracy and less electricity supply. So radio plays an important role in providing the information. The objective was to know the knowledge of respondents about agriculture programmes on Akashwani. Descriptive research design was adopted. The study was conducted in Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh during 2013-14 purposively. Four villages of Chaka block were selected. Sixty farmers were selected purposively. Interview schedule was prepared to collect the data. The data were tabulated and analyzed with the help of statistical techniques.
